Will Our Grandkids Ever See it Live?
I shot this critically endangered Royal Bengal Tiger, taking siesta in the Mysore Zoo. . . It was considered a much coveted trophy and game by the erstwhile kings and royalty of India as well as British officers and hunters like Jim Corbett or Kenneth Anderson in the 20th century.
They were the fearsome and menacing Man-eaters of 18th and 19th centuries!
But very dismally and shamefully, India’s national animal and truly a magnificent one, is fast moving towards extinction with only a little above 2,000 in numbers!
Will they survive to see 22nd century? How I wish!
