Drongos — the Mimics!

What surprised me about this bird were two things: One it has over 20 sub species! And two, this insect eater is a great mimic and can imitate almost 50 calls of other birds and even animal, for which it’s being researched.

Their forked tail is a unique feature, which makes them different.
Easily spotted in the bushes and trees of arid regions and plains, drongos are known to be defensive and aggressive.

I found this one in Pushkar, Rajasthan, but my own Delhi has plenty of them.
