I was blessed with the sight or sighting of this incredibly beautiful bird, outside my home. Made a video while it made it nest…
Also called coppersmith barbet, this one is known as cousin of woodpecker, for the way it makes its nest. I wonder then what was it doing in crowded Delhi!
I guess the reason this bird got here is that my home is surrounded by many flower and fruit bearing trees on them (Coppersmith Barbet’s food), as well as water bodies (we do get migratory birds within 3-4kms of my place).
Did you notice that the tree looks like a heart where he is building his home? …maybe it’s a love nest he’s building! Lol!

it will take time and also social agents to facilitate the change of attitudes. Once people believe they are co-owners, they will learn to treat the environment like they keep their own homes clean and green!
